Norman Birnbaum

Norman Birnbaum, a Nation editorial board member, has been reader of the magazine since 1938 and a contributor since the 1950s. He is professor emeritus, Georgetown University Law Center. His most recent book is After Progress: American Social Reform and European Socialism in the Twentieth Century (Oxford).
